Review Of The Montage Los Cabos Resort
Looking For A Place To Stay In Cabo San Lucas, Mexico And Wondering If The Montage Los Cabos Resort Is Worth All That Money?
I’ve traveled to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico a couple of times and each time I’ve been able to stay at the Montage Los Cabos Resort. I’ve had amazing times and I love staying here, but below is a more detailed review so you can see if this hotel is the right place for you on your next trip down to Baja California Sur.
🏖 Is The Montage Los Cabos Resort A Good Place To Stay?
The Montage Los Cabos Resort is my favorite hotel in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico because I’ve always had an amazing time here for a couple of reasons:
The Quality

The Montage is a 5 star style resort that definitely rises above other hotel options around Cabo San Lucas when it comes to quality.
Although you pay for the quality, everything from the food and the service to the rooms and the amenities is top notch.
The Amenities

With everything else being pretty expensive here, some of the included amenities around the resort help make up for it a little bit.
One of my favorite things that the resort offers to its guests is the complimentary sunrise kayak tour (pictured above). When I did it, just before paddling back in, I saw a mobula ray jump straight out of the water!
Other things guests can enjoy here is daily use of kayaks, paddle boards, and snorkeling equipment, plus two large pools with service, beachside loungers with service, and daily refreshment samples.
The Food

Although there are tons of restaurants around the Los Cabos area that I love (Flora Farms is one of my favorites), there are three restaurants on the Montage property that I think are delicious and I’d happy to eat at them the entire time.
My favorites are the Pad Thai dish from Talay, and the delicious burger from Marea (pictured above).
The Location

Although you can’t walk to Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo, I love the location of the Montage because it’s situated in-between these two cities so it’s not too difficult to get to either one.
It’s also located right on Santa Maria Beach (pictured above) where most tours bring people to go snorkeling, but you can just go out for free.
The Rooms

With my autistic and ocd sensitivities, I usually have lots of issues with hotels and how dirty, unorganized, and smelly they can be, but with the Montage, I don’t feel that way.
I love how spacious, clean, and well maintained the rooms are, and I can actually relax while on vacation here.
The Luxuriousness

I’ve only stayed at a few different 5 star style resorts/hotels before so the luxuriousness is still exciting and new to me, but I love how nice it feels staying at the Montage.
One of my favorite parts is the luxurious feel of spending the day at the beach here (with the loungers, the umbrellas, and the service), and I love that multiple times throughout the day they’ll walk around with different samples for all their guests (one ginger juice sample pictured above).
👎 Downsides Of The Montage Los Cabos Resort

Although I love the Montage Los Cabos Resort, there are a few reasons why others might not enjoy it as much as me or feel like it’s not worth it and prefer to stay somewhere else in Cabo:
- The Price – the main thing to complain about with the Montage is that everything is so expensive; Cabo in general is expensive so no matter where you go it’ll be costly, but the rooms, the food, the service, is all very expensive at the Montage
- The Noise – although it’s not always a problem, lately (like for the last few years) the property next to the Montage (to the left when facing the ocean) has been doing loads of construction which makes a relaxing beach day not so relaxing and can even be heard from some rooms on the Montage property
- The Location – I love the location of the Montage, but it’s not walkable to the main Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo area so you’ll have to get lots of Ubers here to go anywhere outside of the resort property
I agree that it can be ridiculously expensive and having irritating noises when you pay that much isn’t good, but the relaxing and stress-free travel experiences I’ve had here at the Montage make me think it’s worth it because I haven’t found that at many other hotels I’ve stayed at.
🤩 My Experiences At The Montage Los Cabos Resort

Every time I’ve stayed at the Montage Los Cabos Resort, I’ve stayed in the ocean view two bedroom residences and I’ve absolutely loved it.
With my autistic and ocd sensitivities, I rarely feel comfortable in hotels, but the Montage is one of two places I’ve stayed where I actually feel like I can relax a bit.
I can’t sleep with snoring or other loud noises so having multiple bedrooms has also been amazing for my family, plus having a large kitchen to make some of our own meals in has been great too.

The double patio areas looking out onto the Sea of Cortez are also amazing and we’ve even seen whales and mobula rays from these balconies.
Another favorite experience of mine here is having the beachside service where you can sit in loungers all day, have the guys move the umbrellas for you, and order/eat food while staring right out into the beautiful ocean.
I’ve also done plenty of kayaking, paddleboarding, and snorkeling with all the included equipment for guests here, and I’ve always had a great time.
🔁 Sum Up: The Montage Los Cabos Resort
Although there can be a few downsides to staying at the Montage Los Cabos Resort, based on the amazing and stress-free travel experiences I’ve had here, I think this is one of the best hotels in the Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo areas and I definitely recommend it if it’s in your budget.
