Staying In Mexico City, But Wondering How To Get To The Nearby Towns Of Puebla And Cholula?

My first visit to Mexico City was over a decade ago but I continue to return because I love it so much here, and each time I like to go out and explore another new nearby area like I did when I went to Puebla and Cholula on a day trip, which getting to is pretty simple on your own and super easy on a full day tour.

๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ Getting From Mexico City To Puebla & Cholula (the easy way)

The easiest, most convenient, and stress-free way for getting to Puebla and Cholula from Mexico City is definitely on a guided tour.

There are quite a few tours to Puebla and Cholula from Mexico City, but not all are rated the best, so these are three better-looking options I found:

๐ŸšŒ Getting To Puebla & Cholula From Mexico City (on your own)

Getting to Puebla from Mexico City on your own is actually really simple.

Getting To Puebla From Mexico City By Bus

Puebla is only about 2.5 to 3 hours from Mexico City, and it’s really easy to get a bus from one of the terminals and head straight to Puebla.

To start, go to any Mexico City bus terminal (I stayed at the airport so I used that one) and buy a ticket for Puebla. Ride the bus for 2-3 hours and then get off at the terminal in the middle of Puebla.

โฐ How Long Do You Need In Puebla & Cholula?

There isn’t an endless amount of things to do in Puebla and Cholula, Mexico, but I think this area is still worth visiting at least once on a day trip or a short trip just to see the ancient pyramid, the distant volcanoes, and the city of Puebla.

I only visited on a day trip and saw everything I wanted to see (other than the 5 de Mayo celebrations), but to further explore the surrounding area and maybe go on an exciting adventurous hike up a dormant volcano (next to an active one), then I would say 2 to 3 days would be better.

๐Ÿ” Sum Up: Getting To Puebla & Cholula From Mexico City

Getting to Puebla and Cholula, Mexico is quite easy on your own from Mexico City (although it does help if you speak a little Spanish), but there are also guided tours available that make a day trip to these two towns even easier and more stress-free, plus they’re pretty reasonably priced, so I think adding a trip over here to your itinerary is definitely worth it.
