🏨 Safe Areas To Stay In Bogota, Colombia

Although it is a large metropolitan area in Colombia, Bogota was actually a pretty safe place to travel to in my experience, but you should still choose the best transportation options, and stay in safe areas in this capital city:
- 📍 Usaquen – one of the best safe areas in Bogota, Colombia with lots of shops and restaurants around and a quieter, calmer feel, but not quite as convenient for tourist activities
- this is where I stayed the first time I visited Bogota at Estelar La Fontana
- 📍 Parque 93 – another safer area with shops and restaurants around, but also not as convenient for tourist activities since traffic can be pretty bad here
- 📍 Zona T – a little more central of a location, better for getting around to all of the sites, and also a good place to walk around at night
- 📍 The Airport – if you want a quick and easy arrival/departure from the airport and don’t mind spending a bit of time getting to your sightseeing destinations, there are nice options at the airport
- the second time I visited Bogota I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott and loved it, and found it easy to get to the tourist area as well as to the bus terminal to visit other places like the Salt Cathedral and Villa de Leyva on my own
- 📍 La Candelaria – the main touristy center that will put you close to all the main attractions in Bogota, Colombia, but not necessarily one of the best areas to stay since it’s not very safe at night
- you’d definitely want a good, safe hotel here, and to not wander around after dark
