Visiting The Dallas-Fort Worth Area, A Fan Of History, And Looking For More Info On Where The Grave Of Lee Harvey Oswald Is Located?

When I lived in Dallas, seeing all of the JFK-related historical sites was one of the most important things to me (since I studied history and love it so much), so naturally finding the grave of Lee Harvey Oswald was one of those sites on my list.

🪦 Where Is The Grave Of Lee Harvey Oswald Located?

He is buried in Fort Worth, Texas.

Although a lot of people questioned my desire to visit the grave of a supposed assassin, my interests were entirely historical, so if you would also like to see his grave, you can find it about 30 minutes from the location of his alleged crime.

As the only cemetery in town that would take him, Lee Harvey Oswald was buried in Fort Worth, Texas on November 25, 1963 (just three days after the assassination) and you can find his grave in the Shannon Rose Hill cemetery.

Step By Step Directions To Find His Grave

To make it as easy for you as possible, here are step by step instructions to find the grave of Lee Harvey Oswald in Shannon Rose Hill cemetery:

  • starting from the main funeral home here, head straight into the cemetery (to the east), and then take that very first sharp left turn (heading north)
  • at the first fork in the road, keep left (northwest), and then right away at the very next one, keep right (sort of straight north)
  • as you keep straight and head north, you’ll see this ⬇️ red mausoleum up ahead
Here are step by step directions to help you find the grave of Lee Harvey Oswald.
  • park near the mausoleum, and walk towards those small stairs that you can see in the picture to the left of the mausoleum
After the red mausoleum, go left up the stairs and search for his gravesite.
  • once you get up those stairs, go right at about the third row of graves and find Oswalds the 7th in to the right (see the picture above to get an idea of where it’s situated)
  • there’s not much to his grave, just his last name, but it’s still an interesting site to see if you love history

⛳️ Are There Any Other Famous Graves In Fort Worth?

Ben Hogan is also buried in Fort Worth but at a different cemetery than Oswald.

Since you’re already grave hunting in Fort Worth, another famous grave you can see at a different cemetery is that of the famous and potentially best ever professional golfer, Ben Hogan, at Greenwood Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Other Famous Graves In Dallas

There are a few interesting graves in the Dallas area.

Two other notorious gravesites in the Dallas area are those of Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker, famously known as Bonnie and Clyde.

They are not buried together though (because of Bonnie’s mother’s refusal to bury them together despite their wishes), but Clyde is buried in Western Heights Cemetery and Bonnie is buried in Crown Hill Memorial Park.
