My Review Of Skydive Spaceland San Marcos
Thinking About Checking Off Skydiving From Your Bucket List At Skydive Spaceland San Marcos, But Wanting A Little More Info First?
When I was living in Austin, Texas during my college years, I decided to finally check off skydiving from my bucket list so I went to the nearby Skydive Spaceland San Marcos and ended up jumping three times here. Here’s a review of my experiences with them to help you decide if this is the right place for you!
⛑ Safety Of Skydive Spaceland San Marcos

My very first concern with finding a place to skydive was of course the safety and reputation of the company, so I immediately did some research to find out more about Skydive Spaceland San Marcos.
- Google Reviews: 4.9 ⭐️ out of 5 with 1,200+ reviews
- Yelp: 4.6 ⭐️ out of 5 with 160+ reviews
- TripAdvisor: 5 ⭐️ out of 5 with 70+ reviews
With a good reputation when it came to reviews, I also wanted to check if there were any incidents even though I understand the risks associated with skydiving. Back when I went, I couldn’t find info on any incidents, but there was a death in San Marcos back in 2023 when an experienced diver’s personal parachute malfunctioned.
➡️ Overall, I felt like I could trust Skydive Spaceland San Marcos after doing my own research and seeing that they have a great reputation when it comes to safety.
🤑 Prices Of Skydive Spaceland San Marcos

Because I was a college student working to get through school, I also wanted to make sure I was getting a fair price for my skydiving experience, not more expensive than similar experiences but also not too cheap to cause concern.
Compared to similar experiences, Skydive Spaceland San Marcos prices were reasonable ($199 at the time I went but around $239 now), plus they have a great deal after you finish your skydive to get another one for just $99 (which I took advantage of twice).
🪂 The Skydiving Experience At Spaceland San Marcos

After arriving for my first jump, my tandem guide went through all the safety and procedural information while being very sensitive and encouraging knowing the stress, excitement, and anxiety most go through that first time.
We suited up and quickly got on the plane without much time to think. The plane is pretty small and you just sit straddling a bench while the tandem guide hooks up to you before the plane takes off.
My guide continually checked on me as the plane ascended. As other divers made their way out of the plane, we scooted up to the edge of the plane door with the camera diver going first.

My heart was racing, but the feeling of free falling out of the plane was incredible and something I’ve yet to experience with anything else. It does go by super fast, which is why jumping again is so enticing.
After the free fall, the parachute is pulled and you get to calmly glide towards the ground for a few minutes.

On my second and third jumps here in San Marcos, my tandem guides had a little more fun with me doing some flips and spins, and also letting me pull the chute and steer it for a little while.

On my first skydive here I purchased the full video and picture package, which I highly recommend for a first time dive.

🔁 Sum Up: Review Of Skydive Spaceland San Marcos
My three separate visits to Skydive Spaceland San Marcos to check off skydiving from my bucket list were all incredibly safe, fun, and amazing. I never once felt like things were sketchy or unsafe, and I would go back there again or recommend it to my friends and family.
